DATE OF COLLISION: Tuesday, December 11th
December 14, 2018 – The truck driver killed in a collision on the Interstate 580 Freeway Tuesday afternoon has been identified by the Alameda County coroner as 32-year-old Henry Louis Rodriguez-Carrerasquillo.
Primary reports indicated Rodriguez-Carrerasquillo was driving a 2000 Peterbilt in the westbound side of the freeway around 12:36 p.m. Then for unknown reasons, Rodriguez-Carrerasquillo allowed the front right of his big-rig to collide into the left rear of a 2016 Freightliner that was traveling in the same direction.

The impact caused Rodriguez-Carrerasquillo to lose control of the Peterbilt, which then spun out of and overturned. As per the article, the truck operator was crushed, and emergency crews pronounced him dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old man, from Miami, driving the Freightliner and his 24-year-old female passenger appeared to be unharmed in the collision. Both parties cooperated with the investigation, officials said.
The incident prompted the Fallon Road on-ramp to westbound Highway 580 and two far right westbound lanes to shut down. Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
We offer our warmest of thoughts, our prayers, and condolences to the family members of the deceased as they search for peace and comfort.
