Motorcyclist and Vehicle Involved in Deadly Crash
POMONA, Calif. (May 2, 2023) – Henry Eric Vanderveen, 34, of Chino, died in a Pomona motorcycle accident Sunday night at East End Avenue and East 3rd Street.
The fatal, two-vehicle crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 30th at the Pomona intersection, according to the Pomona police Traffic Services Bureau.
It’s unknown what led up to the crash, but this intersection does not have a traffic light and only a stop sign for motorists on East 3rd Street.
Police responded and located the severely injured man near his motorcycle in the roadway.
The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the intersection and performed life-saving measures on the victim, but sadly he died at the scene. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner later identified him as Henry Eric Vanderveen.
Meanwhile, the other driver involved in the crash did not report any injuries. Authorities temporarily closed down East End Avenue between Mission Boulevard to the First Street Bridge to investigate the cause and liability.
