HERMOSA BEACH, California (September 30, 2016)- A 27-year-old woman riding a motor scooter identified as Veronica Moffitt tragically died Thursday night in a collision with a car at the intersection of Aviation Boulevard and Prospect Avenue, according to the Hermosa Police Department.
The crash was reported about 6:32 p.m. when an Audi and the scooter Moffitt had been riding on as they traveled in opposite directions and collided for unknown reasons.
The 27-year-old woman was transported to County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center near Carson, but she sadly later died of her injuries.
Police say they closed down the intersection for roughly five hours to investigate the cause of the crash.
