HESPERIA, California (October 27, 2014) – Four people were injured Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Main Street and Timberlane Avenue, according to a press release by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
The traffic accident, which was reported at 3:06 p.m., involved the drivers of a Chevrolet S10 pickup truck and a Honda Accord. Police say the driver of the pickup truck was traveling south on Timberlane Avenue along when he attempted to cross Main Street and was hit by the Honda whose driver was headed eastbound on Main Street in the No. 1 lane. The two vehicles both came to a stop in a vacant lot.
The man driving the pickup truck was critically injured in the crash and paramedics airlifted him to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he is being treated for major injuries.
The three people who were traveling in the Honda sedan were also injured and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the collision and will determine whether speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
Police closed down Main Street in both directions between Camphor Avenue to Buckthorn Avenue for roughly five hours to collect evidence and interviewed witnesses.
