Fatality ID’d as Aalyah Zuniga, 2
HESPERIA, CALIFORNIA (April 2, 2016) – A child was killed and two others were injured following a traffic collision on Arrowhead Lake Road Saturday morning, according to Victor Valley News.
The victim was identified by the San Bernardino County Sherrif as 2-year-old Aalyah Zuniga, of Victorville.
The fatal accident happened at around 11:15 a.m.
Preliminary report stated that authorities responded to an emergency call requesting for help in the 7500 block of the roadway.
Upon arrival at the scene, they have located a white Nissan Maxima involved in a rollover crash.
The force from the smash was significant, sending Zuniga ejected from the vehicle. The event caused her to sustain severe injuries.
Responding paramedics airlifted her to Loma Linda University Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead at around 12:05 p.m.
Further, the male Nissan motorist and three other children ranging in ages from 6-months to 8-year-old suffered minor trauma from the crash, as recounted in a similar article published by Los Angeles CBS.
The Nissan motorist was identified as the father of the involved children. He was booked for suspicion of child endangerment and felony DUI at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto City.
Authorities continue their investigation on the case.
