2 Adults, 2 Children Injured in Hesperia Accident on Mesa Street
HESPERIA (July 15, 2018) – Four were hospitalized, including children, after an alleged DUI hit-and-run crash on Mesa Street late Saturday night, according to Victor Valley News.
The accident was reported at approximately 10:39 p.m. between Third and Fourth Avenues.
As per the article, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said a 2003 GMC Yukon carrying a family of seven was struck by a 2003 Mazda sedan on Mesa Street. The SUV rolled onto its side while the sedan sustained front-end damage following the crash.
Terrance Barnett, 22, Arrested For DUI Hit-and-Run
San Bernardino County Fire Department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and attended to at least two adults and two children who were hurt upon impact.
All four victims were taken to a local hospital with injuries considered as non-life-threatening. Their names and condition were not released.
Meanwhile, witnesses told deputies that four people abandoned the Mazda and fled on foot following the wreck. All four were later detained, including the driver who has been identified as 22-year-old Terrance Barnett.
Barnett was arrested for felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence of alcohol and is being held on a $100,000.
