The accident involving two vehicles took place at about 7 p.m., near Poplar Street.

The man lost control of the sedan and re-entered the roadway. The Scion crossed over the double-yellow line and directly into the path of a northbound white 2011 Toyota Camry.

The operator of the Scion was taken to Desert Valley Hospital where he later died. San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department identified the driver as 43-year-old Amadi David Arnold, of Hesperia.

The man driving the Camry was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment with major injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.

Meanwhile, all lanes of Highway 395 from Main to Joshua streets were forced to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.

In this case, there are several questions that need to be resolved in order to determine the cause of the deadly crash. Was the driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs a factor? Did excessive speed or distracted driving play a role? Why did the driver of the Toyota Scion leave the roadway prior to losing control of the car and crossing the double-yellow lines? Was he reckless or negligent at some point?

Pending the results and findings of the investigation for this accident, the injured and not held responsible for causing the collision will possess the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit against the at-fault party. The claim will include the compensation for all the hospital bills, future medical needs, lost income, property damage and pain and suffering.
