1 Killed, 1 Injured in Hesperia Head-On Crash on Amargosa Road
HESPERIA, CA (April 2, 2021) – A woman was killed and another was injured after a car crash along Amargosa Road in Hesperia.
According to an article published by the Victor Valley News, the tragic accident occurred on Thursday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 6:45 p.m.
The incident happened on April 1 when a red 2005 Mazda 6 was driving north on Amargosa Road in Hesperia. At the same time, a gray 2012 Ford Focus was going south.
For an unknown reason, the Mazda spun out of control. The sheriff’s department said the car crossed over into oncoming traffic and then struck the Ford head-on.
Car Collision Near Palmetto and California
The accident took place between Palmetto Way and the California Aqueduct. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the 19-year-old woman driving the Mazda dead at the scene.
Medical personnel soon rushed an adult female passenger of the Focus to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The driver and a juvenile occupant of the Ford ended up unharmed following the wreck.
Meanwhile, officials forced Amargosa Road from Palmetto and Key Pointe Avenue to shut down for several hours after the crash. The cause of the fatal collision is still under investigation.
