1 Killed, 3 Injured in Hesperia DUI Crash at Main Street and Walnut Street
HESPERIA, CA (April 26, 2022) – A DUI crash killed one person and injured several others at Main Street and Walnut Street in the city of Hesperia.
According to an article published by the Victor Valley News, the tragic accident took place on Monday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 9:38 p.m.
The incident happened on April 25 when a 2002 Dodge Ram was driving recklessly east on Main Street, approaching Walnut Street, in Hesperia. At the same time, a 2005 Jeep Liberty was traveling west.
The Jeep then made a left turn to go south onto Walnut. In the process, the Dodge struck the passenger side of the Liberty. The Jeep rolled onto its side upon impact.
Reckless Driver Hits Another Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the driver of the Liberty, an 18-year-old Hesperia woman, dead at the scene.
The motorist in the pickup truck and his two passengers sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel took them to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, deputies affirmed that the reckless driver was under the influence when he hit the other car. They soon arrested him for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
Officers forced Main Street to shut down for several hours from Walnut Street to Rock Springs Road following the wreck. The fatal Hesperia crash is still under investigation.
