1 Killed, 1 Injured in Hesperia Crash Near E Avenue and Hercules Street
HESPERIA, CA (September 10, 2022) – A car crash killed one person and injured another near E Avenue and Hercules Street in Hesperia.
According to an article published by the Victor Valley News, the tragic accident took place on Friday night. Officers reported the collision at about 9:12 p.m.
The incident happened on September 9 when a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer was going north on E Avenue, approaching Hercules Street, in Hesperia.
A 2016 Kia Soul was traveling behind the Chevrolet at the time. For an unknown reason, the Kia slammed into the rear of the other car near the intersection.
2 Cars Collide
Deputies said the Blazer rolled over due to the impact of the collision. Paramedics arrived and pronounced a passenger in the Chevrolet, a 75-year-old man, dead at the scene.
The 24-year-old Apple Valley man driving the Soul sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident. Medical personnel rushed him to a hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. The report did not mention if the driver of the Blazer, a 20-year-old Hesperia man, ended up hurt following the wreck.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of E Avenue and Hercules Street to shut down for a time after the incident. The cause of the fatal Hesperia crash is still under investigation.
