2 Drivers Hospitalized After Major Injury Head-on Crash
HESPERIA, Calif. (August 1, 2018) — Two drivers were hospitalized Tuesday night following a head-on collision on Caliente Road, just south of Ranchero Road, according to the Victor Valley News.
The collision was reported about 8 p.m. last night between a black Mercedes-Benz and a silver Kia sedan. A man who was driving the Kia suffered major injuries and was airlifted by the San Bernardino County’s Fire helicopter (H325) to a trauma center out of the area and a woman driving the Mercedes was also hospitalized locally with less severe injuries.
The two vehicles suffered major front-end damage in the collision.
Hesperia Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the crash and they reported that they found an opened bottle of liquor and a handgun inside a backpack in the Kia sedan.
It’s unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors.
