Male Motorcyclist Victim in Fatal Hit-and-Run
DATE OF COLLISION: Wednesday, September 12th
September 13, 2018- According to the Victor Valley News, a deadly hit-and-run collision left a motorcyclist fatally injured last night at Cottonwood Avenue and Main Street.
Hesperia police officials responded to the collision between an alleged SUV and a Harley-Davidson at 7:50 p.m.
According to at least one witness, the SUV driver pulled out from a parking lot directly into the path of the rider who had been headed westbound triggering the wreck.
Following the crash, the SUV motorist failed to stop proceeding to flee the scene without rendering any aid.
Authorities report that the victim, an unidentified male, tragically suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A stretch of Main Street from Cottonwood to Maple Avenue was shut down while Hesperia officials with the Major Accident Investigation Team were on scene for several hours gathering evidence.
A thread of Facebook indicated that the suspect was since been detained, however, that statement cannot be confirmed at this time.
No additional information has been provided.
