Motorcycle, Van Crash Bear Valley Road, 7th Avenue in Hesperia
HESPERIA, Calif. (April 27, 2018) — A motorcyclist was hospitalized with major injuries following a car accident Thursday afternoon at Bear Valley Road and 7th Avenue, according to a report by the Victor Valley News.
The 2 p.m. crash involved a white Honda motorcycle and a van driven by a woman who had just picked up her grandson and was heading home. She had been heading southbound on 7th Avenue when she collided with the rider who was traveling eastbound on Bear Valley Road. The woman told Victor Valley News that she didn’t see the motorcycle, but that she felt it hit the side of her van.
Firefighters and paramedics responded and found the male rider down in the intersection. A helicopter airlifted the injured man to a local trauma center due to extensive, major injuries.
Police are investigating whether or not the motorcyclist ran through a red traffic light. It’s unknown at this time whether or not there were witnesses or perhaps surveillance video in the area at the Rite Aid Pharmacy or the Arco gas station. This may help investigators determine fault.
The crash remains under investigation.
It’s unknown at this time who had the right-of-way and was responsible for this collision. The initial report indicated the motorcyclist may have ran a red traffic light, but this remains unconfirmed. Police are reviewing the evidence and interviews with those involved and witnesses to piece together what happened. Our law firm has fought for victim’s rights and to obtain justice for them for more than a decade. If a negligent driver or entity is at fault for a collision resulting in injuries to you or a loved one, there may be grounds for a civil lawsuit or personal injury claim. While this is always a personal decision, for many the financial losses associated with a traffic accident are significant.
It’s important to note, however, that it’s quite common for insurance companies to try and avoid paying out a claim even when they know their insured is responsible. They may also make an offer to settle for far less than the full amount owed.
