Hesperia Pedestrian Accident on Highway 138 in San Bernardino County
HESPERIA, Calif. (Nov. 5, 2025) — A quiet Tuesday night turned tragic in Hesperia when a man walking along State Highway 138 was struck by a pickup truck that fled the scene, leaving him critically injured and fighting for his life.
The pedestrian accident happened around 7:40 p.m. on November 4 in the 14200 block of the highway, a stretch often traveled by residents heading home from work or errands. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Hesperia Station, the victim—an adult male whose name has not yet been released—was walking southbound when a vehicle, believed to be a Ford F-150, struck him and kept going.
Witnesses called 911, and San Bernardino County Fire crews rushed to the scene. Realizing the man’s injuries were severe, paramedics requested an emergency airlift. He was first taken by ambulance to the Hesperia Airport, where Mercy Air transported him to a trauma center outside the area.
As of Wednesday, authorities had not released an update on his condition.
