Pedestrian on Mobility Scooter Injured in Hesperia Crash at Escondido and Main
HESPERIA, CA (April 14, 2023) – A pedestrian on a mobility scooter was hospitalized after a crash at Escondido Avenue and Main Street in Hesperia.
According to an article published by the Victor Valley News, the accident took place late Friday morning. Officers reported the collision on April 14 shortly before 11 a.m.
The incident happened when a pedestrian on a mobility scooter was trying to cross the intersection of Escondido Avenue and Main Street in Hesperia. The person was crossing from the southeast corner of Escondido at the time.
For an unknown reason, a gray Dodge Journey minivan struck the scooter. Witnesses said the impact then knocked the victim onto the ground.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian hurt. The patient sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident.
Medical personnel then rushed the victim to a hospital for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, sheriff’s officials added that the female driver stopped and stayed at the site following the incident. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Hesperia police forced the eastbound lanes of Main Street to shut down near Escondido Avenue after the pedestrian collision.
