2 Men Hit and Injured by Car on Mauna Loa Street
HESPERIA (August 9, 2018) – On July 29, Sunday, two people were injured in a traffic accident on Mauna Loa Street.
Car VS Scooters Accident Sunday in Hesperia
According to Victor Valley News, two men were riding non-motorized scooters on Mauna Loa Street shortly before 10 p.m. When the two men approached the crossing at Cottonwood Avenue, they were struck by a passing 1998 Toyota Camry heading west on Mauna Loa.
Medical records indicated both parties operating the non-motorized scooters suffered injuries in the crash. One victim was reportedly taken to a local hospital for a head injury, while the other was flown down the hill to a medical center also with a head trauma.
At this time, the names of the patients and their conditions have not been disclosed, but officials at least said they were aged 20 and 32.
Meanwhile, the identity of the Toyota driver involved remained unknown.
Investigators believed the crash site was dark, and the pedestrians were not wearing a reflective vest or reflective gear at the time of the collision.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
