HIGHLAND, California (July 11, 2017) — Five people including two infants were hospitalized Sunday night after a multi-vehicle crash involving a hit-and-run driver at Base Line and Victoria Avenue, according to the Press Enterprise.
The victims suffered minor to moderate injuries. The crash, between a green Ford Expedition, a white Lexus and a red Kia Sportage, was reported at 10:30 p.m. to police. Four ambulances transported the victims to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment.
The initial collision involved the Ford and Kia, but as the occupants of the first two vehicles exited their cars the Lexus struck the Kia. The driver who was in the Lexus then fled on foot without assisting those who were hurt at the scene.
Witnesses or anyone with information about the collision or the suspect are asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department at 909-425-9793.
Liability for Auto Accidents
If the actions of a negligent driver have caused your injuries or the loss of a family member, it’s important that you take immediate steps to protect your legal rights. There are many factors that police consider when determining liability for a collision including speed, distractions, mechanical failures, reckless driving, driving under the influence and more. The insurance companies will try to get you to settle your claim for as little as they can, but they will not take into account future medical costs or loss of wages. It’s advisable that you consider hiring a personal injury lawyer to fight for your rights and get you the compensation you are entitled to.
