Pedestrian Hospitalized After Crash Near University Avenue Onramp
Hillcrest, CA (October 7, 2022) – A pedestrian suffered serious injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on State Route 163 Friday afternoon.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, a male party was seen walking in the southbound lanes of the freeway. In the area near the University Avenue onramp, a passing silver Toyota sedan struck the pedestrian.
The collision took place at approximately 2 p.m.
When paramedics arrived at the scene, they found the male pedestrian suffering in injuries. An ambulance rushed the victim to a hospital for treatment of major trauma. The name and age of the patient remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Authorities mentioned the 65-year-old driver of the Toyota appeared unharmed after the crash.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise circumstances that led up to the pedestrian accident that happened on State Route 163 in Hillcrest.
