Major Injury 3-Vehicle Crash on County Road 12
MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (Feb. 16, 2024) — A man suffered major injuries Friday in a hit-and-run crash on Hall Road, just east of Johnson Road and Las Lomas in Monterey County.
The three-vehicle collision occurred at around 12:19 p.m. on Feb. 16th, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
CHP officials responded to 736 County Road 12 or Hall Road. A driver in a yellow Volkswagen Beetle was injured and required an ambulance. The car had its airbags deployed as well as major front-end and rear-end damage. It was involved in a crash with a heavy-duty white work truck and a gray Chevrolet Silverado SUV.
The driver in the SUV reportedly went off the roadway into a ditch and the Volkswagen was blocking traffic lanes.
Police Looking for Suspect in White Work Truck
Meanwhile, the truck driver apparently pulled over after the crash and “realized what he did and took off,” the report said. He was last seen headed north on Hall Road in the truck which had “boxes on the side,” the report said.
Paramedics responded and transported the injured man from the Volkswagen to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. It’s unknown if anyone else was hurt in the crash.
Watsonville Police are searching for the suspect in the white work truck.
