Hit-and-Run Driver Hits Boy Trick-or-Treating on Derby Street in Berkeley
Boy, 7, Injured in Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident
BERKELEY, Calif. (Nov. 2, 2023) — A hit-and-run driver struck and injured a 7-year-old boy who was trick-or-treating on Halloween Tuesday night on Derby Street in Berkeley.
The pedestrian accident occurred at around 6:25 p.m. on Oct. 31st in the 1200 block of Derby Street, according to The Mercury News.
A driver in a dark-colored sedan hit the child who was with several other children and fled the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics responded and the boy was transported to a hospital where it was confirmed he had a broken leg, cuts and bruises. No other children were reportedly hurt in the crash.
Authorities are on the lookout for the suspect who fled.
