Man Riding Scooter Injured in Crash in Los Osos
LOS OSOS, Calif. (June 14, 2024) — A 35-year-old man riding a Honda Elite scooter was injured in a hit-and-run accident Thursday on Los Osos Valley Road.
The traffic accident occurred at around 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 13th, just west of Sunset Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol and a report by KSBY.
The man was riding eastbound on Los Osos Valley Road when a driver in a Hyundai Elantra reportedly pulled out from a parking lot into his path. The car crossed the roadway northbound and collided with the man on the scooter. The scooter rider was thrown off the bike and suffered major injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Hyundai failed to stop and fled the scene westbound on Los Osos Valley Road, police said.
Investigators are working on the case and asking witnesses to contact the California Highway Patrol at (805) 594-8700.
