Pedestrian Hit by Car Near San Marcos High School
SAN MARCOS, Calif. (May 15, 2018) — A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured Sunday in a hit-and-run crash at South Rancho Santa Fe Road and West San Marcos Boulevard, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The collision took place about 8:24 p.m. at the intersection in front of San Marcos High School. The suspect driver was heading southbound on Rancho Santa Fe Road when they struck the pedestrian who was crossing westbound outside a marked crosswalk. Paramedics responded and rushed the injured person to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Meanwhile, the suspect fled the scene without stopping to help the injured person.
Police say the driver’s vehicle was a dark blue BMW 325i sedan with the license plate 5TBE922. They suspect there is significant front-end damage to the vehicle. Witnesses or anyone with information about this collision may contact police at (760) 510-5259.
