Suspect Evaded on Foot
GILROY, California (October 1, 2016) – A hit-and-run collision resulted in injuries on Highway 25 at County Road G7 Saturday afternoon, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
As per the log, two vehicles collided head-on then involved several other cars at the junction around 1:53 p.m. Among the automobiles at the scene were a black Jeep, a silver Ford F150, and a black Nissan Frontier.
The multi-car crash caused injuries to at least one person whose name was not disclosed due to coroners still working on notifying next of kin. Officers continue to probe if other parties have been hurt from the collision.
Further, the CHP team affirmed a man, believed to be the suspect who was driving recklessly prior to the incident, emerged from his vehicle and evaded on foot.
A search operation has been put in motion to find the felon. Investigators continue to look into the accident.
