Head-on Crash 7th Standard Road at Magnolia Avenue
SHAFTER, Calif. (July 11, 2018) — Hodari Toussaint Cooper Jr., 20, and Hakiam Cooper, 13, both died Wednesday morning in a head-on crash at 7th Standard Road and Magnolia Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place about 6:24 a.m. this morning between Hodari’s SUV and a semi-tractor trailer truck. Police say a white SUV drifted into the westbound lane and collided with the truck. A man who had been sleeping in the back seat of the vehicle died at the scene and 911 operators called the coroner to respond. Three other occupants in the SUV were hospitalized with moderate to major injuries.
Police closed down the roadway at the intersection to investigate the cause of the crash and liability. So far there are very few details about what happened.
