
Multi-Vehicle Collisions on State Route 152 in Hollister
HOLLISTER, Calif. (May 12, 2023) — A pile-up crash on the eastbound Highway 152 in Hollister happened Friday morning near the Upper Cottonwood Wildlife Area.
The collisions occurred around 3:47 a.m. on May 12th on State Route 152, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported two vehicles were blocking the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes and the third vehicle overturned near the center divide. The driver of a black Chevrolet pickup truck called 911 and told dispatchers they hit one of the vehicles. The report stated there was one collision involving two vehicles and major injuries, a second crash with three vehicles and minor injuries and a third collision with three vehicles and property damage only.
CAL Fire sent firefighters and paramedics to the scene to help those injured in the crash and transported at least one person to a hospital.
Meanwhile, tow trucks came to remove two pickup trucks both with major front-end damage, a sedan with all-over damage and another sedan with undisclosed damage.
It’s unknown at this time what factors contributed to the pileup collisions, but investigators are working on the case and will determine liability for the Hollister crash on Highway 152.
