1 Seriously Injured in Hollister Crash Near Fairview Road and Spring Grove Road
HOLLISTER, CA (July 8, 2021) – A DUI crash seriously injured at least one person near Fairview Road and Spring Grove Road in Hollister.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the wreck took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the accident at about 5:11 p.m.
According to CHP, a white GMC pickup truck and a gray Ford Escape collided in Hollister. The two crashed on Fairview Road, just north of the Spring Grove Road intersection.
Alcohol Factor in Car Collision
One of the cars involved plowed into a fence nearby and obtained major damage. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and extricated a trapped occupant from the wreckage.
They confirmed that one individual sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment of a possible broken leg.
Officials did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP believed that a driver of a vehicle was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
Officers forced all lanes of Fairview Road near Spring Grove to shut down for about two hours following the wreck. They are still investigating the Hollister crash.
