1 Killed, 5 Seriously Injured in Hollister Crash on Highway 25 Near Flynn Road
HOLLISTER, CA (August 21, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and seriously injured several others on Highway 25 in Hollister.
According to an article published by the KION News, the tragic accident took place on Saturday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 6:51 p.m.
The incident happened when a gray Mazda 3 was going north on Highway 25 in Hollister. A silver Chevy Tahoe was also traveling in the same direction.
The California Highway Patrol said the Mazda pulled to the shoulder to make a U-turn. The Chevy approached and then broadsided the Mazda as it was making the turn.
3 Cars Collide
The two cars crashed just north of Flynn Road. The impact forced the Tahoe into the southbound lanes where it collided head-on with a Honda Accord.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found at least six people who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon rushed them to the hospital for treatment. CHP confirmed that one of the patients later died.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced both lanes of Highway 25 near Flynn to shut down for two and a half hours following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Hollister crash is still under investigation.
