HOLLISTER, California (July 23, 2016) – A motorcyclist was killed and two others were injured following a crash on Highway 25, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The accident occurred on July 23, Saturday at around 7:45 p.m.
Per CHP officials report that a motorcyclist identified as Giovanni Gonzalez, 17, of Hollister, was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle before colliding with a vehicle.
The collision triggered both vehicles to catch fire immediately.
Per California Highway Patrol officials, Gonzalez sadly did not survive the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two other motorists inside the undisclosed vehicle sustained moderate injuries and were taken to a hospital by ambulance. Their conditions remain unknown at this time.
Authorities investigating the collision are unsure whether alcohol or drugs played a factor in this incident.
