1 Injured in Hollister Hit-and-Run Crash at Highway 25 and Highway 156
HOLLISTER, CA (September 7, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured at least one person at Highway 25 and Highway 156 in Hollister.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on Sunday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on September 6 at about 2:52 p.m.
The incident began when a big rig ran a red light for an unknown reason in Hollister. In the process, the semi-truck slammed into a small black Honda.
According to CHP, the two crashed on Highway 25 at the intersection with Highway 156. The Honda obtained major front-end damage upon impact.
Big Rig Runs Red Light, Hits Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found an occupant of the small car left wounded as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided treatment to the victim for the minor injuries they sustained in the wreck. Officials did not release the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the big rig failed to stop and fled the area. The Hollister hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced a stretch of Highway 25 at Highway 156 to shut down for a time following the wreck.
