Holly Newman, 40, Injured in Redding Crash at Court and Tehama Streets
REDDING, CA (January 26, 2021) – Holly Newman was hospitalized after a motorcycle crash at Court and Tehama streets in Redding.
Police identified the 40-year-old Redding woman as the victim of the accident which occurred on Monday evening.
The incident happened on January 25 when Holly Newman was driving a 2007 Suzuki GSX motorcycle north on Court Street. At the same time, a 2013 Honda CRV was traveling south.
Police said the driver of the Honda, 72-year-old Faith Blatchford, then made a left turn onto Tehama Street. The elderly motorist went directly into the path of the motorcyclist.
Motorcycle vs Car Collision in Redding Monday
In the process, Newman collided with the passenger’s side of the SUV. According to the article published by KRCRTV News, her helmet fell off during the collision.
Paramedics responded to the scene and found the rider suffering from injuries to her left arm, left leg, and head as a result of the crash.
Medical personnel took her to Mercy Medical Center for treatment. Officials did not release her condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police did not mention if Blatchford ended up hurt following the wreck. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
