Passenger Injured in Collision Near Highway 98 Sunday
Holtville, CA (December 28, 2021) – A suspected hit-and-run car crash occurred on the Interstate 8 Freeway on December 26, Sunday.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a traffic collision occurred in the westbound side of I-8 near State Route Highway 98. Initial records indicated a vehicle was seen swerving in and out of the traffic lanes before eventually slamming against a barrier along the freeway. The make and model of the car involved in the accident remained unknown.
Witnesses claimed they saw a male passenger in the wreckage with injuries to their head. Personal information on the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Meanwhile, the CHP log mentioned the driver apparently regained consciousness after the impact. The motorist accelerated and drove away from the scene. At this time, no immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
Investigators continue to work to determine several factors surrounding the car crash on Interstate 8 in Holtville.
