2 Injured in Homeland Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 74 Near Ritter Avenue
HOMELAND, CA (September 13, 2021) – Two were hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 74 near Ritter Avenue in Homeland.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Saturday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 5:18 p.m.
CHP said the incident happened on September 11 when two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Homeland. They crashed on Highway 74 near Ritter Avenue and went off the road upon impact.
2 Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Dollar General store. They found two people who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took both patients to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Officials did not disclose the names of the wounded victims and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that one of the drivers involved did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Officers forced a stretch of Highway 74 near Ritter to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Homeland hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
