Hongying Weng Killed in Crash at Gale and Valencia Hacienda Heights

HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. (Dec. 22, 2025) — Hongying Weng, 73, was killed Sunday evening after being struck by a vehicle at an intersection in Hacienda Heights, authorities said.

The collision was reported on Dec. 21st at about 5:20 p.m. at the intersection of Gale and Valencia avenues, prompting a response from the California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County Fire Department, officials said.

Weng was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

The crash prompted the closure of eastbound lanes in the area as investigators worked at the scene.

No arrests were immediately made, and the circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation, the CHP said.
