MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA (September 18, 2021) – At least one was injured after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 101 in Hopland.

The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Saturday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 8:20 p.m.

According to CHP, a speeding driver slammed into a white Toyota Tacoma in Hopland. The two crashed on the northbound the side of Highway 101.

Speeding Driver Hits Another Car, Flees Scene

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Saracina Vineyards. They found the Toyota left with broken front tires.

An occupant of the Toyota ended up hurt as a result of the collision. Medical personnel treated the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the accident.

The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help and then fled the area.

Officers forced the northbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down following the wreck. The Hopland hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
