Hua Xu Li Hit by Car at West Covina Bus Stop
WEST COVINA, California (Nov. 2, 2018) – Hua Xu Li, 43, of West Covina was struck and killed on Halloween night at Amar Road and Nogales Street.
The fatal pedestrian accident took place about 6:50 p.m. and Li died of his injuries at the scene. Police say she was standing by a bus stop when she was struck by a driver in a 2004 Saturn Ion. The vehicle had been heading north on Nogales Street when it jumped the curb and struck a traffic light before crashing into Li.
The 74-year-old Arizona woman who was driving the Ion was also hurt. She was transported to a hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Police closed down the intersection to investigate the cause of the crash. They will seek to find out if drugs and or alcohol were factors, a medical condition or a mechanical malfunction.

Los Angeles Crash Investigation
Police are reviewing the evidence and any witness statements to determine fault. The investigation will consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by the vehicles such as point of impact, final resting positions of the vehicles, skid marks, and gouge marks.
