Hugo Martinez, 25, Dies in Traffic Collision on Artesia (91) Freeway Friday
Long Beach, CA (June 5, 2021) – Hugo Gonzalez Martinez, a 25-year-old man from Long Beach, suffered fatal injuries following a motorcycle accident on Interstate 91 on June 4, Friday.
According to My News LA, Hugo Martinez was riding a 2007 Kawasaki traveling east on Interstate 91, also known as Artesia Freeway. For reasons still unclear, the motorcyclist crashed on the part of the freeway near Cherry Avenue offramp.
The article published online indicated Hugo Martinez was ejected onto the roadway. A passing 2011 Freightliner big rig was not able to stop on time; and ran over the motorcyclist lying on the freeway.

Our sources confirmed Hugo Martinez sustained deadly injuries as a result of the crash. Responding paramedics arrived shortly after 9:10 a.m., and sadly pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the operator of the big rig appeared unharmed after the incident.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate several factors surrounding the motorcycle crash that killed Hugo Martinez.
