Humberto Lopez, 38, Killed in North Hollywood Hit-and-Run on Laurel Canyon
LOS ANGELES, CA (November 6, 2021) – Humberto Lopez was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Laurel Canyon Boulevard in North Hollywood.
The coroner’s office identified the 38-year-old man as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Sunday night.
The incident began when Humberto Tomas Lopez was crossing Laurel Canyon Boulevard, north of Strathern Street, in North Hollywood. At the same time, a silver vehicle was going north.
Los Angeles police said for an unknown reason, the driver then struck him. KTLA News and My News LA wrote that the accident occurred on October 31 at about 10:35 p.m.
Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found Humberto Lopez left lying on the ground as a result of the collision. They soon took him to a local hospital, where he died.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the pedestrian. The suspect continued and fled northbound on Laurel Canyon.
Officers are still searching for the hit-and-run driver who killed Humberto Lopez. The cause of the North Hollywood crash is still under investigation.
