HUNTINGTON BEACH, California (Feb. 16, 2017) — Two people were injured and a suspected drunken driver was arrested Wednesday morning after two vehicles collided at the intersection of Edinger Avenue and Springdale Street, according to the Orange County Register.
The crash took place about 3:30 a.m. yesterday morning. The drivers of a gold Ford Ranger and a black Chrysler 200 were involved. The Chrysler, driven by Darius Roberts, 27, of Huntington Beach, was traveling south on Springdale Street when it allegedly hit the Ford as it traveled east on Edinger Avenue. The Chrysler continued moving southbound before it struck a power pole and knocked it down. Roberts was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.
The 18-year-old woman driving the Ford was thrown out of the vehicle and suffered major injuries. Her male passenger was also hurt, but suffered minor injuries. The two were both taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
Liability for Traffic Accidents
Police are going to investigate what led up to this collision, starting with who had the right-of-way at the intersection. They will interview all involved parties and witnesses as well as seek out any surveillance cameras that may be in the area. Police have already determined that one driver was drunk, but they will also look into whether speed was also a factor or distractions. If there are injuries involved, it’s advisable that the victims consider hiring a personal injury attorney to represent them to ensure the best possible outcome. Medical bills and lost time off work can be a considerable financial loss for most people. Johnson Attorneys Group can help by providing a free legal consultation at 800-235-6801.
