Man Killed, Woman Injured in Huntington Beach Bicycle Crash Near Magnolia and Hamilton

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (August 8, 2021) – A crash killed one bicyclist and injured another near Magnolia Street and Hamilton Avenue in Huntington Beach.

The Orange County Register and My News LA wrote that the tragic accident took place on Sunday morning. Officers reported the incident at about 8:50 a.m.

Huntington Beach police said a 2005 Ford Explorer struck an elderly couple was riding a tandem bicycle for an unknown reason. The car hit them near the intersection of Magnolia Street and Hamilton Avenue.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found both riders, a 74-year-old man and an 82-year-old woman, who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then rushed them to a hospital, where the husband died. The names of the deceased and wounded victims have not been yet released.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver of the Ford stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the bicyclists. Officers forced the area of Magnolia and Hamilton to shut down following the accident.
