1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Huntington Beach Hit-and-Run on Pacific Coast Highway

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (July 25, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian and injured another on Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach.

The Orange County Register and CBS Los Angeles wrote that the tragic accident occurred Sunday night. Officers reported the incident at about 8:55 p.m.

Huntington Beach police said a vehicle struck the two pedestrians for an unknown reason. The driver hit them on Pacific Coast Highway near Newland Street.

Pedestrians Hit by Vehicle

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the victims left lying on the ground as a result of the collision. One of them died at the scene.

Medical personnel rushed the other patient to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render help to the victims and fled the area. The Long Beach hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.

Officers forced the northbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway to shut down between Beach Boulevard and Newland Street following the collision.
