Killed in Car Crash with Wrong-way Driver on I-8 Freeway
EL CAJON, Calif. (April 13, 2021) – Huy Dang, 59, of San Diego, died in a collision with a wrong-way driver on the Interstate 8 Freeway in El Cajon.
Additionally, the fatal crash happened about 2:05 a.m. on April 10th, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
Fatal Head-on Crash on I-8 Freeway in San Diego County
Guillermo Christian Roblero III, 26, of Alpine, was traveling at high speed and crashed into a blue Honda CR-V driven by Huy Dang. The other motorist was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the freeway prior to the collision. Meanwhile, the gray Toyota Scion and Honda crashed head-on in a violent crash.
Paramedics responded with police and Huy Dang was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, police arrested the wrong-way driver on suspicion of driving under the influence. The suspect suffered major injuries in the crash. Paramedics transported him to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.
Also, investigators continue to review the facts and will determine fault for the El Cajon collision.
