Moped Rider Killed in Hyde Park Hit-and-Run Crash on Crenshaw Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 9, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed a moped rider along Crenshaw Boulevard in the Hyde Park neighborhood.
According to an article published by My News LA, the tragic accident occurred earlier this month. Officers reported the collision at 2:35 p.m.
The incident happened on April 1 when a man was riding a moped southbound on Crenshaw Boulevard in Hyde Park. At the same time, a vehicle was traveling behind him.
Police said for an unknown reason, the driver struck the moped rider near Westmount Avenue. He ended up thrown to the pavement as a result of the collision.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the victim left lying on the ground following the crash. He suffered major injuries upon impact.
Medical personnel rushed him to a hospital, where he died two days later. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that motorist did not stop to render aid and then fled the area. Officials described the car involved as a black Ford Flex.
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect. They forced Crenshaw Boulevard to shut down for a time after the fatal crash.
