Ignacia Lucas Gonzalez Fatal Whittier Crash 605 Freeway
WHITTIER, CA, (June 25, 2021) – Ignacia Lucas Gonzalez, 49, of El Monte, died last Friday in a collision on the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Whittier.
The woman died in a multi-vehicle crash on the San Gabriel River Freeway about 2:30 a.m. on June 25th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Also, medical personnel pronounced Ignacia Gonzalez, 49, dead at the scene of the Whittier crash.
Two vehicles including a Toyota CHR driven by Gonzalez and a Toyota Corolla were involved in the initial collision. The first crash happened just north of Rose Hills Road, but soon after a Ford F-150 pickup crashed into the Toyota CHR. The smaller car was struck a second time by a fourth driver in a Ford C-Max.
Sadly, Gonzalez died in the crash and a passenger in her vehicle was injured. Paramedics transported the person to USC Medical Center. Also, paramedics took the driver of the pickup truck to the same hospital for treatment.
Investigators will determine the cause of the crash and liability.
