Woman in Her 30s and Man in His 50s Hospitalized
IMPERIAL BEACH, California (August 13, 2016) – An alleged drunk driver struck and seriously hurt two people standing outside a bar on Palm Avenue Friday night, according to UT San Diego.
The collision took place around 9:15 p.m. outside the Salty Frog Bar.
As per the article, a sheriff’s official said a 2007 Ford Sport Trac Explorer XLT was going west on Palm Avenue when its 36-year-old driver swerved onto the sidewalk were several bar patrons were located.
In the process, a woman in her 30s and a man in his 50s were hit by the Ford. They were transported to a hospital to be treated for major injuries.
Meanwhile, the 36-year-old Imperial Beach man continued driving west, but stopped as his car broke down with front-end suspension damage at Palm Avenue and Emory Street.
The motorist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
