Woman Injured in Collision at Coronado Avenue and Hollister Street
Imperial Beach, CA (August 11, 2022) – A 34-year-old female driver suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Hollister Street and Coronado Avenue.
Patrol SUV Hits Civilian Car in Imperial Beach
The San Diego Union-Tribune published an article online reporting a collision between a Ford Mustang and a patrol SUV. Preliminary investigation revealed the woman driving the Mustang entered the intersection from the Interstate 5 ramp. At about the same time, a deputy driving a marked patrol vehicle drove through the crossing. The officer struck the side of the passenger side of the Mustang, per local news source.
Shortly after 5:15 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics immediately checked the conditions of all parties involved in the wreck. After the evaluation, medical personnel decided to transfer the driver of the Mustang to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, the officer appeared unharmed after the incident. Our sources mentioned the Imperial Beach-based deputy was responding to an emergency call when the crash happened.
Detectives handling the case continue to work at this time to determine several unclear factors surrounding the accident that took place at Coronado Avenue and Hollister Street.
