1 Killed, 3 Injured in Imperial County Crash Near Forrester Road and Aten Road
IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA (June 26, 2021) – A crash killed one person and injured several others near Forrester Road and Aten Road in Imperial County.
According to an article published by the Calexico Chronicle, the tragic accident took place on Saturday evening. Officers reported the wreck at around 7:40 p.m.
The County Sheriff’s Office said a Chevy Tahoe and a pickup truck collided, west of Imperial. They crashed near the intersection of Aten Road and Forrester Road.
An Imperial County sheriff’s deputy was driving the Chevrolet Tahoe at the time. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Another Car
Both cars rolled over and then came to a rest in the field. At least three people ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Air ambulances took two patients to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. A ground ambulance transported the third wounded party with unspecified injuries.
The names of the deceased and wounded victims have not been yet released. Meanwhile, witnesses told officials that one of the vehicles involved was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the incident.
The speeding car ran a red light and then hit the other vehicle. Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Aten Road and Forrester Road to shut down following the Imperial County crash.
The fatal collision is still under investigation.
