Man, 75, Hurt in Indian Wells Bicycle Accident
INDIAN WELLS, Calif. (April 26, 2019) — A 75-year-old man riding a bicycle was seriously injured Thursday morning when he collided with a parked Public Works vehicle on Highway 111.
The crash took place about 8:56 a.m. at El Dorado Drive. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department report stated that the city employee parked the vehicle on a paved shoulder on the westbound side of Highway 111 and activated the vehicle’s flashing lights. The bicyclist crashed into the rear of the vehicle and suffered significant injuries. Paramedics transported the injured man to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the public works employee cooperated with the police investigation at the scene.
Police do not suspect alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, but they continue to investigate what led to the accident.
