INDIO, California (April 14, 2015) —A 15-year-old boy was critically injured Monday night in a pedestrian accident in front of the Indio Middle School at 81100 Miles Avenue, according to a report by the Riverside County Fire Department.

The injury accident was reported about 9:06 p.m. across the street from the school. The boy had a skateboard with him, but it was unclear if he was riding it at the time of the accident.

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to the scene of the accident and transported the young male adult who was in serious condition to Loma Linda University Medical Center. The 26-year-old man driving the Ford sedan that hit the boy remained at the scene.

The Indio Police Department is heading up the investigation.

“Hopefully this young person gets the care he needs for a full recovery,” said Attorney James Johnson.
