Man Killed in Indio Accident at Avenue 48 and Madison Street Thursday
INDIO (August 30, 2018) – A fatal traffic accident involving a pedestrian occurred in the area of Avenue 48 and Madison Street on Thursday afternoon, according to The Desert Sun.
The collision took place at about 3:30 p.m.
As per the article, police said for an unknown reason a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Avenue 48 and Madison Street.
Paramedics responded to the scene and found the man in the roadway with life-threatening injuries. The victim was immediately transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The name of the deceased has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the driver of the car involved stopped and stayed at the scene following the crash. KESQ wrote that the westbound lanes of Avenue 48 were forced to shut down for several hours.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
