Pedestrian Killed in Indio Crash Near Highway 111 and Granada Drive
INDIO, CA (November 3, 2022) – A crash near Highway 111 and Granada Drive killed a pedestrian in Indio.
According to The Desert Sun and KESQ News, the tragic accident took place on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the collision on November 2 at about 7:13 p.m.
Indio police said the incident happened when a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit him on Highway 111 near the intersection with Granada Drive.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and then found the man down on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident.
Paramedics rushed the patient to the Desert Regional Medical Center, where he soon died. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist stopped and stayed at the site following the incident. They added that the area does not have a marked crosswalk.
Officers forced a stretch of Highway 111 to shut down for several hours near Granada after the collision. The cause of the fatal Indio pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
